R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder Information Responsibly And Neatly Getting Everything Ready for School
The R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder, which includes your child's Learning Log, is the number one form of communication used between parents and teachers. It gives you a consistent look into your child's school day. Your child is expected to write in their Learning Log every day. The items in the Learning Log include: a character quote of the day, homework, reminders and a space for parents to write comments. Parents are required to initial the learning log each day.
R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder Don'ts:
• Take care of your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder; it will be used all year!
• Clean out the "Friday Folder" every week. Place these items in safe place in case you need to refer back to them.
• Take your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder home everyday and bring it back each morning.
• Keep your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder clean.
• Show your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder to your parents everyday - they will be so proud of your new responsibility!
R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder Don'ts:
• Don't make any marks or drawings in or on your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder.
• Don't leave your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder at home, in the car or at daycare.
• Don't let anyone borrow your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder or tear pages out of it.
• Don't put any papers in your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder that do not belong.
• Don't eat or drink in front of your R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder!
The R.A.N.G.E.R.S. Binder will contain the sections listed below.
• Learning Log Spiral (inserted in the binder or in the front pocket): The Learning Log will be completed each day by your child to keep you informed about our happenings at school. It will include the date, "Quote of the Day"," Homework assignments", "What I learned Today" to be completed at school, The "Reading log & Book Summary", "Parent Comments & Signature" to be completed at home every night. Pages should not be torn out of the Learning Log Spiral.
• Zipper Pouch: This is where students will keep supplies to use while completing homework, so that they do not need to bring home their pencil box every night. Their pencil box should remain at school.
• Class Schedule (sheet protector): This is a handy reference to remember when your child has lunch, Language Arts, etc • Reference Sheets (sheet protector): This section will include helpful reference sheets for your child to refer to as they complete homework assignments at home, such as various usernames and passwords.
• Homework and Notes pocket (front pocket): This pocket is for homework to be neatly completed and placed to be turned in the next day.
• Friday Folder (folder): This folder is for graded work completed in class by your child. The Friday Folder should be emptied each Friday night and signed, as it will be checked each Monday morning.
